| 1 | | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3445

| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3445 on page 4, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 10 through 13 with the following: |
| 4 | | "physician assistant, or registered nurse. A certified |
| 5 | | dialysis technician shall not be permitted to administer |
| 6 | | heparin and saline to a patient with a central venous |
| 7 | | catheter. |
| 8 | | Additionally, the following conditions must be present: |
| 9 | | (1) the RN or APRN must complete an assessment of the |
| 10 | | patient's nursing care needs prior to the delegation and |
| 11 | | make modifications to the patient's nursing care needs |
| 12 | | during the course of dialysis treatment to address any |
| 13 | | patient problems and complications;". |
