|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 22.50b as follows:
|
| 6 | | (415 ILCS 5/22.50b new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 22.50b. Use of former waste disposal sites. No person |
| 8 | | shall use, or cause or allow the use of, any site on which a |
| 9 | | former waste disposal operation is located in a manner that is |
| 10 | | inconsistent with the closure of the waste disposal operation. |
| 11 | | Prohibited uses under this Section include, but are not |
| 12 | | limited to: |
| 13 | | (1) disturbing or compromising the integrity of the |
| 14 | | final cover, liner, or any component of the waste |
| 15 | | containment system; |
| 16 | | (2) impairing or interfering with the function of any |
| 17 | | monitoring system; and |
| 18 | | (3) causing or contributing to erosion of, or surface |
| 19 | | water impoundment over, the final cover. |
