| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 143.24e as follows: |
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/143.24e new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 143.24e. Automobile insurance policy for disabled |
| 8 | | title holder. No insurer licensed to issue a policy of |
| 9 | | automobile insurance as defined in subsection (a) of Section |
| 10 | | 143.13 shall fail or refuse to accept an application for that |
| 11 | | insurance from a person who holds legal title to a motor |
| 12 | | vehicle but who is unable or not permitted to drive due to a |
| 13 | | disability, so long as the person identifies a primary driver |
| 14 | | or drivers. |
