AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3719 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3719 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 1. Reference to Act. This Act may be referred to 
5as Larry's Law.
 
6    Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by 
7adding Section 8.14 as follows:
 
8    (20 ILCS 105/8.14 new)
9    Sec. 8.14. Updated resources on scam calls and robocalls.
10    (a) The Department on Aging, in consultation with the 
11Office of the Attorney General, shall develop updated 
12resources concerning scam calls, robocalls, and scam texts. 
13The resources shall include, but not be limited to:
14        (1) information on predatory scam calls that use 
15    artificial intelligence to mislead the call recipient;

1        (2) information on how to access a scam call hotline 
2    number where call recipients may report predatory calls;
3        (3) information on scam texts and how to identify 
4    them; and
5        (4) information on strategies to protect seniors from 
6    scam calls, robocalls, and scam texts, such as developing 
7    a password to be shared with family members to protect 
8    seniors from artificial intelligence voice cloning scams.
9    (b) The Department on Aging shall provide the resources 
10developed under subsection (a) in a conspicuous location on 
11the Department's public website. The Office of the Attorney 
12General may provide links to the resources developed under 
13subsection (a) on the Office of the Attorney General's public 
14website.".
