| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 9-133 as follows: |
| 6 | | (605 ILCS 5/9-133 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 9-133. Blue reflective pavement markers. A unit of |
| 8 | | local government may place a blue reflective pavement marker |
| 9 | | on any highway, street, or road to mark the location of a fire |
| 10 | | hydrant or water supply. The blue reflective pavement marker |
| 11 | | shall not be used for any other purpose. A unit of local |
| 12 | | government shall not place a blue reflective pavement marker |
| 13 | | on a State highway unless it first obtains an encroachment |
| 14 | | permit from the Department. |
| 15 | | This Section does not apply to freeways or freeway ramps. |
