| 2 | | development of asthma, especially in children. Gas |
| 3 | | appliances should never be used without a ducted vent hood |
| 4 | | to reduce exposure to these emissions." |
| 5 | | (b) The label required under subsection (a) shall be |
| 6 | | attached to the gas appliance in a conspicuous location and in |
| 7 | | a type size no smaller than the largest type size used for |
| 8 | | other consumer information on the product. |
| 9 | | (c) The Board may adopt rules setting forth additional |
| 10 | | requirements for the placement and formatting of the label |
| 11 | | required under subsection (a). |
| 12 | | (d) A violation of this Section constitutes a violation of |
| 13 | | this Act. |
| 14 | | (e) In this Section, "non-externally vented natural gas |
| 15 | | appliance" means a natural gas-fired appliance that exhausts |
| 16 | | combustion by-products into the indoor air of the building or |
| 17 | | dwelling unit in which it is installed and is not connected to |
| 18 | | a flue, chimney, or other duct designed to convey combustion |
| 19 | | gases to the outdoors. "Non-externally vented natural gas |
| 20 | | appliance" does not include (i) portable outdoor cooking |
| 21 | | appliances, laboratory equipment, or appliances intended |
| 22 | | exclusively for outdoor use or (ii) furnaces, boilers, water |
| 23 | | heaters, or other appliances that are required by the |
| 24 | | International Fuel Gas Code or the International Mechanical |
| 25 | | Code to be mechanically vented.". |
