SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 


    Appropriates moneys from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for its ordinary and contingent expenses. Effective July 1, 2026.

1    AN ACT concerning appropriations.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much of
5those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the
6objects and purposes named, are appropriated from the General
7Revenue Fund to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of
8the Office of the State Appellate Defender:
9  For Personal Services...........................$31,270,000
10  For State Contributions to Social Security.......$2,392,000
11  For Contractual Services.........................$3,607,500
12  For Travel..........................................$60,000
13  For Commodities.....................................$36,000
14  For Printing........................................$15,000
15  For Equipment.......................................$83,500
16  For EDP..........................................$1,647,500
17  For Telecommunications..............................$43,000
 
18    Section 10. The amount of $271,000, or so much of that
19amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
20Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for
21the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Expungement
22Program.

1    Section 15. The amount of $188,000, or so much of that
2amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
3Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender to
4provide statewide training to public defenders under the
5Public Defender Training Program.
 
6    Section 20. The amount of $603,000, or so much of that
7amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
8Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender to
9develop a Juvenile Defender Resource Center.
 
10    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
112026.
