SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Keith Mitchell Berry of Peoria, who
4passed away on January 25, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Berry was born in Carbondale to L. Rachel
6Daniels Berry and Vernon Berry on December 11, 1948; his
7family relocated to Peoria when he was three, and he grew up on
8Peoria's south side; he graduated from Manual High School in
91966; he served with the U.S. Army as a combat medic in Vietnam
10from 1968 to 1969; he returned from Vietnam and married Kathe
11Carrigan; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Keith Berry worked in the Peoria area in sales,
13teaching, and community service; he also completed an
14associate's degree at Illinois Central College; he worked for
15several years at WCBU and Channel 47; he was the commentator
16for the Peoria City Council for several years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Keith Berry met his second wife, Cinda Thompson,
18when he freelanced as a photographer with the textbook company
19for which she worked; they married on September 16, 1995; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Keith Berry was talented with electronics but
21also artistic and creative with broadcasting, photography, and

1design; in addition to working independently, he helped create
2Image Design, an artistic collaborative; he was extroverted
3and loved people and will be especially remembered for his
4wit, his sense of humor, and his intelligence; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Berry is survived by his wife of 30 years,
6Cinda; his son, David (Jami) Berry; his daughter, Anne (Tom)
7Kirchgessner; and his grandchildren, Devin, Caera, Johnny,
8Lucy, Peter, and Tommy; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Keith Mitchell Berry and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Keith Berry as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
