SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Donald E. Bennett of Canton, who 
4passed away on February 28, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Bennett was born to Edgar B. and Dorothy 
6M. (Huggins) Bennett in Canton on April 24, 1933; he served in 
7the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Donald Bennett worked at Pabst Brewing Company 
9for many years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Bennett was a member of the Farmington 
11Moose Lodge, Pheasants Forever, the Canton VFW, the American 
12Legion in Cuba, and the National Rifle Association; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Donald Bennett was an avid hunter and fisherman; 
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald Bennett was preceded in death by his 
16parents and his brothers, Edgar J. Bennett and Gordon D. 
17Bennett; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Donald Bennett is survived by his children, 
19Deborah (Rick) Miller, Bryan (Paula) Bennett, Nancy M.

1Holloway, Jo Payne, Lynn McGinnes, and Karen Tippey; 13 
2grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five 
3great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Donald E. Bennett and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Donald Bennett as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
