SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate Claire Ann Gulley on the occasion of her election
4as Youth Governor of the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government
5program; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Claire Gulley, a junior at Sesser-Valier High
7School, was elected to reside over the 76th General Assembly
8of the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government program on March 21,
92025, becoming the fifth female youth governor in the
10program's history; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Claire Gulley has been a dedicated participant in
12the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government program for the past
13two years, during which she has worked to promote thoughtful
14debate, legislative innovation, and collaboration among her
15peers; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In addition to her contributions to the Illinois
17YMCA Youth and Government program, Claire Gulley has
18demonstrated unwavering commitment as an active member of her
19school's student council, National Honor Society, Outdoorsmen
20Club, FFA, Scholar Bowl, band, chorus, cheer team, and golf
21team, further showcasing her leadership capabilities; and

1    WHEREAS, Claire Gulley has also demonstrated academic
2excellence and a passion for policymaking, law, and
3governance, using her knowledge and skills to advocate for
4meaningful change within her school and community; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Claire Gulley will serve as Youth Governor of the
6Illinois YMCA Youth and Government program until the 77th
7General Assembly in March 2026; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Claire
10Ann Gulley on her election as Youth Governor of the Illinois
11YMCA Youth and Government program; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Claire Gulley as a symbol of our respect and
14esteem.
