SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Jannis Deanne "Janni" Favus, who 
4passed away on April 10, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janni Favus, the daughter of Dane and Delores 
6Harris, was born on August 21, 1946; she earned her master's 
7degree in education from Illinois State University; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Janni Favus was a beloved and respected educator, 
9teaching Head Start, Kindergarten, and Reading Recovery in 
10Peoria and Bloomington; she remained in touch with many of her 
11former students for the rest of her life; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Janni Favus was a dear friend to many and an 
13exceptionally kind individual who always put others first; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Janni Favus was preceded in death by her parents; 
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Janni Favus is survived by her husband, Mitchell; 
17her son, Josh; her daughter-in-law, Nicole; and many friends; 
18therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Jannis Deanne "Janni" Favus and extend our sincere condolences 
3to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be 
4it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Janni Favus as an expression of our 
7deepest sympathy.
