SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Shirley Anne Moylan, who passed away on August 14, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan, the daughter of Samuel and Rose Randazzo, was born in Chicago on August 2, 1930; she attended Providence High School, where she enjoyed playing sports, studying, and spending time with friends, and she later earned her GED certificate; she married Martin J. "Bud" Moylan Jr. in 1950; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan worked numerous jobs to support her family of 13 children after the passing of her husband in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was a woman of strong faith who was a longtime member of St. Angela Church; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was a voracious reader and an avid follower of politics and currents events; she found her greatest joy in spending time with family, including telling humorous stories about her children at family gatherings; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was admired for her intelligence and wit; she will be remembered for her resilience, her laughter, and the unwavering love she gave so freely; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Phillip; her sister, Rose Quinn; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan is survived by her children, Marty (Lisa), Steve (Cindy), Jerry, Mickey (Dorothy), Kevin (Sharon), Tim, Bill (Karin), Bob, Mary, RoseAnn, Margie (Andy), Debbie, and Dan (Nikki); 30 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Shirley Anne Moylan and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Shirley Moylan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
