SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charles James "Charlie" Kirk, the
4cofounder of Turning Point USA, who passed away on September
510, 2025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk was born in Arlington Heights on
7October 14, 1993; he attended Wheeling High School and later
8studied at Harper College before leaving to pursue activism;
9he married Erika Frantzve in 2021; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012
11at the age of 18, launching the conservative advocacy group as
12a shoestring campus effort and building it into a well-funded
13national organization; through the organization, he
14established a number of affiliated groups, including Turning
15Point Action and Turning Point Faith; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk became a prominent ally of President
17Donald Trump and a well-known media figure; he hosted The
18Charlie Kirk Show on talk radio, appeared regularly on
19conservative outlets, and addressed such major political
20conferences as the 2022 Conservative Political Action
21Conference (CPAC) and the 2024 Republican National Convention;

1    WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk was the author of several books,
2including Campus Battlefield in 2018, The MAGA Doctrine in
32020, and Right Wing Revolution in 2024; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk will be remembered for his campus
5activism, youth engagement, and faith-based organizing; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk is survived by his wife and their
7two children; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Charles James "Charlie" Kirk, the cofounder of Turning Point
11USA, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charlie Kirk as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
