| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Charles James "Charlie" Kirk, the |
| 4 | | cofounder of Turning Point USA, who passed away on September |
| 5 | | 10, 2025; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk was born in Arlington Heights on |
| 7 | | October 14, 1993; he attended Wheeling High School and later |
| 8 | | studied at Harper College before leaving to pursue activism; |
| 9 | | he married Erika Frantzve in 2021; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012 |
| 11 | | at the age of 18, launching the conservative advocacy group as |
| 12 | | a shoestring campus effort and building it into a well-funded |
| 13 | | national organization; through the organization, he |
| 14 | | established a number of affiliated groups, including Turning |
| 15 | | Point Action and Turning Point Faith; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk became a prominent ally of President |
| 17 | | Donald Trump and a well-known media figure; he hosted The |
| 18 | | Charlie Kirk Show on talk radio, appeared regularly on |
| 19 | | conservative outlets, and addressed such major political |
| 20 | | conferences as the 2022 Conservative Political Action |
| 21 | | Conference (CPAC) and the 2024 Republican National Convention; |
