SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charles L. Sturgeon of Kilbourne, who
4passed away on September 7, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Sturgeon was born to Cecil and Violet
6(Eastridge) Sturgeon in Grantsburg, Indiana on February 28,
71948; he served in the United States Navy; he married Dana M.
8Morris in Danville on July 29, 1972; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Sturgeon built a career with the
10railroad; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles Sturgeon was a man of strong faith and a
12member of Kilbourne Community Church, and he was always ready
13to lend a helping hand to others; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles Sturgeon had many passions, including
15antique cars and collecting coins, and he enjoyed playing Rook
16with his family and friends; he loved his cat, Cream Puff, who
17brought him much joy; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Charles Sturgeon was preceded in death by his
19wife and his parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Charles Sturgeon is survived by his son, Chad
2(Audra) Sturgeon; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren,
3with one more on the way; his siblings, Gary L. (Kathy)
4Sturgeon, Colbert W. Sturgeon, and Barbara S. Tallman; his
5sister-in-law, Jenny (Morris) Rodman; and many nieces and
6nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Charles L. Sturgeon and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Charles Sturgeon as an expression
14of our deepest sympathy.
