SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard A. "Dick" Anderson of Kewanee, who passed away on August 4, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Dick Anderson, the son of Arlo Glen and Jeannie Elizabeth (Donaldson) Anderson, was born in Kewanee on August 16, 1938; he graduated from Kewanee High School in 1956; he married Carolyn Jean Edwards in Kewanee on September 5, 1959; he served in the United States Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967; and

WHEREAS, Dick Anderson worked at Illinois Power for 40 years, and he was a business manager of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1306; he also served as president of the board of directors of Utility Employees Credit Union for many years; and

WHEREAS, Dick Anderson was an avid trap shooter, winning numerous competitions over the years; he loved hunting, and his hunting expeditions took him to a number of international locales, including Greenland, Africa, Argentina, and Canada; in the United States, he pursued hunting in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming; he enjoyed connecting with nature and held a deep respect for wildlife; and

WHEREAS, Dick Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronald Anderson; and his sister, Sharon Guthrie; and

WHEREAS, Dick Anderson is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn; his children, Mark (Cynthia) Anderson and James (Bonnie) Anderson; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard A. "Dick" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dick Anderson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
