| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Roberta "Bobbi" Schaper Eastman of Oak |
| 4 | | Park, who passed away on July 30, 2025 at the age of 50; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman was born in Oak Park to Pat and Paul |
| 6 | | Schaper on December 2, 1974; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman started working for the luxury |
| 8 | | Chicago developer LR Development, now Related Midwest, and |
| 9 | | then had a 15-year career as a realtor for Baird & Warner, |
| 10 | | where she also served as charitable arm team captain, helping |
| 11 | | to organize community events and raise funds to support local |
| 12 | | charities, including Beyond Hunger; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman won multiple sales awards during |
| 14 | | her time at Baird & Warner, even their highest award, the |
| 15 | | Founder's Club; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman, additionally, served as a member |
| 17 | | of the board of directors for the Oak Park Area Association of |
| 18 | | Realtors and the vice-chair of the Government Affairs Task |
| 19 | | Force; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman was a state legislative contact |

| 1 | | (SLC), who played an essential role in Illinois REALTORS |
| 2 | | lobbying efforts; and |
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman, most notably, was a devoted mother |
| 4 | | to her daughters, Norah and Emily, and was always known to be |
| 5 | | supportive of her girls and all their classmates by supplying |
| 6 | | any needed items; as a volunteer for the Julian Middle School |
| 7 | | PTO, she reorganized the lunch fundraiser and helped to raise |
| 8 | | tens of thousands of dollars; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman was an avid animal lover, who was |
| 10 | | particularly fond of dogs, cats, lizards, birds, hermit crabs |
| 11 | | and especially the dozens of kittens that she and her girls |
| 12 | | warmly and affectionately fostered for the Animal Care League; |
| 13 | | and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman was a kind and generous friend, |
| 15 | | often bringing a container of fresh soup to someone's door |
| 16 | | with a note, making anyone's day better with her infectious |
| 17 | | laugh, or just finding connection that made others feel |
| 18 | | welcome and cherished; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman was preceded in death by her |
| 20 | | parents, Pat and Paul Schaper; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Eastman is survived by her daughters, Norah |

| 1 | | and Emily; her uncle, Art (Dawn) Leonard; her sister, Debbie |
| 2 | | (Kevin) Carlson; and her beloved nephews, Jeremy, Matthew, and |
| 3 | | Joshua; therefore, be it |
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 6 | | Roberta "Bobbi" Schaper Eastman and extend our sincere |
| 7 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 8 | | her; and be it further |
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 10 | | presented to the family of Bobbi Eastman as an expression of |
| 11 | | our deepest sympathy. |
