SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Suzanne M. Ausmus of Springfield, who
4passed away on November 5, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus, the daughter of Frank and Julia
6(Roland) Duchaney, was born in Pana on November 1, 1946; she
7graduated from Pana High School in 1964; she married Jessie
8Ausmus at Roanoke Southern Baptist Church in Springfield on
9February 18, 1967; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus initially worked as an office
11coordinator for the Illinois Department of Revenue before
12serving as a school bus driver for First Student, Inc. for 14
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus served as PTO president for
15multiple schools and as president of the Lanphier High School
16Football Booster Club; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus loved sports, and she enjoyed
18attending football and baseball games and cheering on the
19Denver Broncos and the St. Louis Cardinals; most of all, she
20enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus was preceded in death by her
2parents and her granddaughter, Neilie Ausmus; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Suzanne Ausmus is survived by her husband of 58
4years, Jessie; her sons, Greg (Angie) Ausmus and Nick
5(Courtney) Ausmus; three grandchildren; and her cousin, Mary
6Beth (Ron) Raetz; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Suzanne M. Ausmus and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Suzanne Ausmus as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
