SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joe Coleman of Pana, who passed away
4on November 6, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman, the son of Morris J. and Wilma
6(Overby) Coleman, was born in Pana on March 11, 1959; he
7married Annette Riley; they later divorced, and she survives;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman was the owner of Joe Coleman & Son
10Environmental Services, Joe Coleman Salvage & Demolition, and
11Whiskey Bill's Saloon and Liquor Emporium; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman was a member of the Masonic Lodge,
13the Eagles, the Elks, and the Moose Lodge, and he was also a
1425-year member of the Shriners; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman was an avid car collector; he was
16proud of his collection and The Corvette Shed, which he was
17always willing to open for benefits and special events for the
18community; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman, known as "Papa Joe" to many, was a
20proud father and grandfather who will be remembered as a

1generous man who never wanted to be recognized; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman was preceded in death by his parents
3and his brothers, Morrissey Coleman and Billy O. Coleman; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Joe Coleman is survived by his son, Zach (Katie)
5Coleman; three grandchildren; his special children, Bridgett,
6Abby, Lizey, Chad, and Levi; 12 special grandchildren; his
7sisters, Linda Paden and Debra (Lamar) Embry; several nieces,
8nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his best friend,
9Brett "Brent" Henschen; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Joe Coleman and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Joe Coleman as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
