| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate Commander Michael Tate of the Chicago Police |
| 4 | | Department (CPD) on being promoted to the rank of Street |
| 5 | | Deputy; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The CPD announced a reshuffling of its command |
| 7 | | staff with a focus on patrol operations and community |
| 8 | | involvement in its ongoing effort to combat violence and build |
| 9 | | trust within the neighborhoods it serves; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Commander Tate has served the CPD for more than |
| 11 | | 30 years, and he has spent his career focused on reducing |
| 12 | | violence and building community trust; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Commander Tate has an extensive background in |
| 14 | | violence reduction and community partnership in the 6th |
| 15 | | District of Chicago; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Commander Tate is a motivated leader who will |
| 17 | | continue to do all he can to make the neighborhoods of Chicago |
| 18 | | safer for everyone; therefore, be it
