SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mark E. Beard of Sherman, who passed
4away on November 25, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Beard was born to Edward Earl Beard and
6Janice Lewis in Springfield on August 1, 1956; he attended
7Williamsville High School, where he participated in track,
8cross country, and basketball; he married Terri Ferguson on
9October 25, 1975; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mark Beard worked as a systems engineer architect
11for Storage Technology for almost 30 years, and he also served
12a number of other large technology companies; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Beard coached his three children in various
14sports in their younger years; most recently, he enjoyed
15traveling and watching his seven grandchildren participate in
16various sports, concerts, and other activities; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mark Beard enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and
18riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle; while at home, he and
19his wife enjoyed hosting family events, making caramels and
20brittle, and sitting outside by their koi pond; and

1    WHEREAS, Mark Beard was preceded in death by his parents;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mark Beard is survived by his wife of 50 years,
4Terri; his children, Nicole (Matt) Tyson, Sara (Adam)
5Westlake, and Kaylan (Kelsey) Beard; seven grandchildren; and
6his siblings, Ron Dunkel and Susan Hinds; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Mark E. Beard and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mark Beard as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
