| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Karen "Kay" Walton of Chatham, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 27, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kay Walton, the daughter of Franklin "Teen" and |
| 6 | | Mary Ruth (Goff) Hall, was born in Jacksonville on September |
| 7 | | 28, 1944; while being raised in Versailles, she attended Brown |
| 8 | | County High School in Mount Sterling; she married Ronald |
| 9 | | "Ronnie" Walton in 1964, and he preceded her in death in 1988; |
| 10 | | and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Kay Walton, after the passing of her husband, |
| 12 | | focused all of her attention on her children and |
| 13 | | grandchildren, and she played an integral role in the |
| 14 | | upbringing of some of her grandchildren; she became known as |
| 15 | | "Kay Kay" to her great-grandchildren; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Kay Walton cherished taking outings to Southern |
| 17 | | Illinois and watching her youngest grandchildren's numerous |
| 18 | | athletic activities and events; she also enjoyed taking many |
| 19 | | trips to Oregon and loved being with family at Cannon Beach on |
| 20 | | the Oregon coast; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Kay Walton will be remembered for her fierce |
