SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Deborah K. "Debbie" Zilm of
4Carlinville, who passed away on December 1, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Debbie Zilm, the daughter of Roy and Doris
6(Miller) Schmidt, was born on April 27, 1954; she graduated
7from Carlinville High School in 1972; she married Andy Zilm at
8Zion Lutheran Church in Carlinville on June 2, 1973; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Debbie Zilm first worked as a secretary before
10working as a legal secretary for the law firm of Denby and
11Dobbs; she and her sister, along with their families, got
12involved in retail business in the 1990s, starting with Main
13Street Florist and later adding Main Street Bridal; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Debbie Zilm was active with the Carlinville
15Chamber of Commerce, the Carlinville Christmas Market, and
16Christmas on the Square in Carlinville, serving as chairperson
17for those groups at different times; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Debbie Zilm was a lifelong member of Zion
19Lutheran Church; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Debbie Zilm was preceded in death by her parents

1and her brother, Gary; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Debbie Zilm is survived by her husband of 52
3years, Andy; her children, Carrie (Scott) Harris, Mandy (Eric)
4Konneker, and Brian Zilm; four grandchildren; her sister,
5Kelli (Randy) Chasteen; her brother-in-law, Karl (Sharon)
6Zilm; her aunt, Betty Maguire; and several nieces, nephews,
7and cousins; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Deborah K. "Debbie" Zilm and extend our sincere condolences to
11her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Debbie Zilm as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
