| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Todd Renfrow of Springfield, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on December 16, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow, the son of Leo and Dorothy (Harmon) | ||||||
| 6 | Renfrow, was born in Springfield on June 26, 1934; he | ||||||
| 7 | graduated from Springfield High School and received a degree | ||||||
| 8 | from Illinois College; he served in the United States Army | ||||||
| 9 | during the Korean War; he married Helen Durkin on September | ||||||
| 10 | 17, 1958; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow dedicated his career to public | ||||||
| 12 | service and his family's auto parts business; he owned and | ||||||
| 13 | operated Uptown Garage & Renfrow Auto Parts, and he later | ||||||
| 14 | served as chairman of the Democratic Party of Sangamon County, | ||||||
| 15 | executive assistant to Illinois Secretary of State Alan Dixon, | ||||||
| 16 | director of the Office of Public Works for the City of | ||||||
| 17 | Springfield, deputy director of the Department of Business | ||||||
| 18 | Services under Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, and | ||||||
| 19 | general manager of City Water, Light, and Power (CWLP), from | ||||||
| 20 | where he retired; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow became a devoted Catholic later in | ||||||
| 22 | life, and he served as an usher at Sunday Masses at Blessed | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Sacrament Church; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow enjoyed watching and playing golf | ||||||
| 3 | and basketball, and he formerly played basketball for both | ||||||
| 4 | Illinois College and the United States Army; he greatly | ||||||
| 5 | cherished spending his free time with his family; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow adored his roles as a husband, | ||||||
| 7 | father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he taught his | ||||||
| 8 | family the importance of kindness, generosity, and always | ||||||
| 9 | helping others; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 11 | parents; his siblings, Nancy Durfee and Leo "Bud" Renfrow; his | ||||||
| 12 | bonus mother, Delores Butler Renfrow; and his daughters, Kathy | ||||||
| 13 | (Ed) Vehovic and Sally Todd Renfrow; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Todd Renfrow is survived by his wife of 67 years, | ||||||
| 15 | Helen; his daughters, Diane (Bill) Winberg and Dorothy (Greg) | ||||||
| 16 | McMillan; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; | ||||||
| 17 | several nieces and nephews; and his bonus family members, | ||||||
| 18 | Derrick Robinson, Derrick (DJ) Robinson Jr., and Atrue | ||||||
| 19 | Williams; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||

| 1 | Todd Renfrow and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 2 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further | ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 4 | presented to the family of Todd Renfrow as an expression of our | ||||||
| 5 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
