SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Viola Anderson; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Viola Anderson, the daughter of Earlene and
5William Caldwell, was born in Chicago on November 11, 1944;
6she earned a master's degree in child development; she married
7William J. Anderson Sr.; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Viola Anderson dedicated her professional life to
9special needs education, serving as an educator, a mentor, and
10an advocate for countless children; she also served as a
11cheerleading coach and judge, and she was a tutor at Leo High
12School; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Viola Anderson embraced her community and
14actively participated with several groups, including the Girl
15Scouts of America, LAF Catering Service, the Choralettes
16singing group, and the 82nd and Morgan Street Block Club; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Viola Anderson, who was affectionately known as
18"Pepe", "Bollie", "Umbayaa", and "Aunt Tillie" to her loved
19ones, enjoyed supporting, nurturing, and spending time with
20her children, her grandchildren, and her niece and nephew; and

1    WHEREAS, Viola Anderson was always willing to lend a hand
2or a listening ear, earning her the love and respect of her
3neighbors; she was the heart of her family, and she leaves
4behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Viola Anderson was the wife of William Anderson
6Sr. for 30 years; the mother of William Anderson Jr. and
7Michael Anderson; the grandmother and great-grandmother of
8many; the sister of Edith Fifer; and the aunt of two;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Viola Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Viola Anderson as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
