SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Lott, who passed away on December 26, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lott was born in Springfield to Charles and Constance (Cullimore) Lott on July 27, 1956; he graduated from Athens High School in 1974; he married Debbie Bock on October 18, 1975, and they shared 49 wonderful years together; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lott worked a variety of jobs before eventually becoming self-employed by starting B&B Builders; he later ran the family trailer and monument business, J&R Marble and Trailer in Athens; he retired in 2021 but stayed active, mowing grass for the school and helping wherever he could; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lott was a respected member of his community and known for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand; he led efforts to improve and maintain the Athens Park as board president and later served as Menard County Commissioner for several years, making a lasting impact; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lott cherished time with family and friends, whether taking a trip, tackling a project, or just sharing laughs, and his grandchildren could always count on him for a silly story; and

WHEREAS, Bob Lott is survived by his children, Nick Lott, Brian Lott, and Lindsay (Jeff) Suelmann; his grandchildren, Charlie, Trey, Brice, and Ellie; his mother, Connie Reed; his brothers, Steve (Gail) and David Lott; his brother-in-law, Roger (Barb) Bock; his sister-in-law, Nancy Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" Lott and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Lott as an expression of our deepest sympathies.
