SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Andrea Lillian (Parson) Brown of
4Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 29,
52025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Andrea Brown was born to Vivian (Jenkins) Parson
7and Edwin Prigg Parson Sr. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May
829, 1942; she graduated from John Harris High School in 1960
9and earned a bachelor's degree in English from Morgan State
10University in 1964; she moved to Gary, Indiana, where she met
11her husband, Carl Brown; after she attended graduate school,
12she moved to Peoria, Indiana; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Andrea Brown served as an English teacher in
14Gary, Indiana, where she taught two of the Jackson 5 children;
15after she moved to Peoria, Indiana, she worked as a vocational
16counselor for the Urban League, human resources representative
17for Carson Pirie Scott, and vice president of resource
18distribution for Heart of Illinois United Way; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Andrea Brown had a zest for life and enjoyed
20shopping, traveling, taking luxury cruises with friends, and
21attending wine and jazz festivals with her brother; she was a
22member of a variety of fitness groups and activities; she was a

1kind, loving, and generous soul who was very close to her
2nieces and nephews; she will be missed for her hugs, funny
3jokes, and delicious homemade soups; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Andrea Brown was preceded in death by her parents
5and her husband; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Andrea Brown is survived by her brother, Edwin
7Prigg Parson Jr.; her nephew, Edwin Prigg Parson III; her
8nieces, Corinne Parson and Lauren Parson; her great-niece,
9Maya Parson; her great-nephews, Avery Holmes, Gavin Parson,
10Allen Parson, and Deion Parson; and a host of additional
11relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Andrea Lillian (Parson) Brown and extend our sincere
15condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
16her; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Andrea Brown as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
