SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Salzer of East Peoria,
4who passed away on January 22, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Salzer was born to Trevelyn and Margaret
6Edwards Salzer in Weldon on January 7, 1936; he married
7Marilyn L. Wageman in Peoria on June 22, 1957, and she preceded
8him in death on January 24, 2016; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Salzer was a crane operator for International
10Union of Operating Engineers Local #649, retiring in 1999
11after 43 years; during his career, he worked on many projects,
12including such notable builds as Peoria's Twin Towers and the
13Murray Baker Bridge, and he was noted for his perpetual
14willingness to share his skills with others; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bob Salzer's faith was the foundation of his
16life; he served his church, supported charitable causes, led
17Bible studies, and always found time to read God's word for
18himself; he was a longtime member of Bay View Baptist Church in
19Washington; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bob Salzer was an avid Cardinals fan, loved
21working on word puzzles, and enjoyed exercising at Eastside

1Centre; he cherished his family and loved spending time with
2them all; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bob Salzer was preceded in death by his parents;
4his son, James Salzer; and his siblings, Sheila, Richard, and
5John Salzer; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bob Salzer is survived by his children, Mark
7(Sheila) Salzer, Gary (Lisa) Salzer, Denise (Dave) Schwenk,
8Eric (Heather) Salzer, and Diane (Dave) Ogg; 11 grandchildren;
911 great-grandchildren; his brother, Phillip (Nancy) Salzer;
10and his sister-in-law, Barb Salzer; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Robert "Bob" Salzer and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bob Salzer as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
