| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Minnie Pearl (Collins) Taylor, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 4, 2026; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Minnie Pearl Taylor was born to Johnny and Minnie |
| 6 | | Lee Collins in Belzoni, Mississippi; after her mother's |
| 7 | | passing in 1966, she moved to Springfield, Illinois, where she |
| 8 | | became a member of Southeast High School's first graduating |
| 9 | | class in 1968; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Minnie Pearl Taylor had an extensive work |
| 11 | | history; she worked for Angelica in St. Louis, Missouri, and |
| 12 | | she retired from International Mason in Detroit, Michigan in |
| 13 | | 2016; upon returning to Illinois, she worked for Cahokia Unit |
| 14 | | School District #187; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Minnie Pearl Taylor committed to her faith at an |
| 16 | | early age, and she found her church family at Love Outreach |
| 17 | | Ministries; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Minnie Pearl Taylor was a beloved mother, sister, |
| 19 | | grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend who |
| 20 | | was known for her kindness, grace, and love; and |
