SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of John V. Capranica of Springfield, who 
4passed away on February 18, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Capranica, the son of David and Virginia 
6(Saccomano) Capranica Sr., was born in Springfield on April 
728, 1957; he married Deborah Meredith on May 4, 1993; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Capranica worked as a millwright for 
9Pillsbury and later as a technician for Dick VanDyke, and he 
10retired in property management; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Capranica was a member of St. Aloysius 
12Church; and
 
13    WHEREAS, John Capranica was preceded in death by his 
14parents and his brother, David Capranica Jr.; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Capranica is survived by his wife; his 
16daughter, Gina (Steve) Boastick; his stepdaughter, Tammy 
17(Ross) Mitchener; his stepsons, Michael Coady and Jason 
18Martin; 14 grandchildren; his brother, Andy Capranica; and 
19several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3John V. Capranica and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of John Capranica as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
