SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Marie Carmel Muscadin, who passed away
4on February 15, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marie Muscadin, affectionately known as "Maille",
6was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on April 14, 1947; she
7shared a 51-year marriage with her husband, Dr. Jean Wilson
8Muscadin; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marie Muscadin worked as a nurse; alongside her
10husband, she devoted more than 40 years to caring for children
11in Chicago, leaving a lasting impact on the community she
12served; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marie Muscadin was also an extraordinary chef who
14delighted in sharing her culinary talents and creating warm,
15welcoming spaces for loved ones and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Marie Muscadin was a devoted mother, sister,
17grandmother, nurse, and friend to many; she will be remembered
18for touching countless lives through her generosity,
19compassion, and deep commitment to helping others; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marie Muscadin is survived by her children, Farah

1and Wilson Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Andrea; her
2grandchildren, Alexander, Jeremy, Henri, and Annia; and her
3siblings, Guy Wilson, Mireile Michel, Ketty Paul, Carl Wilson,
4Jean Wilson, Yvrose Wilson, and Jude Wilson; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Marie Carmel Muscadin and extend our sincere condolences to
8her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Marie Muscadin as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
