| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Theodore "Ted" Sarantos of Oak Park, |
| 4 | | who passed away on June 8, 2025 at the age of 88; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos was born in Elkhart, Indiana on |
| 6 | | November 11, 1936; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos lived a life deeply rooted in the |
| 8 | | arts and dedicated to inspiring others through his passion for |
| 9 | | theater and film; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos was a graduate of Columbia College |
| 11 | | Chicago's theater program; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos taught at both the Art Institute of |
| 13 | | Chicago's Goodman School of Drama and Columbia College |
| 14 | | Chicago; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos spent much of his career running a |
| 16 | | thriving acting studio in Chicago and later Oak Park; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos was a devoted acting teacher and |
| 18 | | director who spent his life nurturing talent in his hundreds |
| 19 | | of students, showing an unwavering commitment to teaching, and |

| 1 | | bringing both knowledge and enthusiasm into every studio space |
| 2 | | he entered through an influence that left an indelible mark on |
| 3 | | those fortunate enough to learn from him; and |
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos was preceded in death by his son, |
| 5 | | Alex; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Ted Sarantos, at the time of his passing, was |
| 7 | | survived by his wife, DeLacy; his daughters, Cricket and Kate; |
| 8 | | his stepchildren, Kevin and Raina; his grandchildren, Cricket, |
| 9 | | Samantha, Max, Lindsay, Liam, Ashton and Wesley; his siblings, |
| 10 | | Pat, Leon and John; and numerous great-grandchildren; |
| 11 | | therefore, be it |
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 14 | | Theodore "Ted" Sarantos and extend our sincere condolences to |
| 15 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 16 | | further |
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to the family of Ted Sarantos as an expression of our |
| 19 | | deepest sympathy. |
