SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Alice M. (Ondrla) Dunn of Oak Park,
4who passed away on October 11, 2025 at the age of 83; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn was born on September 11, 1942; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn devoted her life to educating
7children, beginning at Hiawatha School in Berwyn until she
8became a mother in 1974; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn stayed home to raise her daughters
10before returning to education through the Park District of Oak
11Park's preschool program, and she concluded her career in
12education while teaching second grade at Ascension School in
13Oak Park after more than 20 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn was an avid gardener with a fondness
15for orchids, possessing the skill set to keep the most
16beautiful of them in bloom; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn enjoyed keeping her door open with a
18warm welcome and a tray of homemade cookies, which she also
19used as bait to ensure visits from her grandsons and all the
20children in the neighborhood; and

1    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn, a diehard White Sox fan, watched
2every game the team played, even during the 2024 season; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn was also a longtime parishioner at
4Ascension Church, where she enjoyed being part of the church
5community and attending Mass every Sunday; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Alice Dunn is survived by her husband of 53
7years, Robert A. Dunn; her daughters, Julieann (Michael)
8Hedges and Megan Dunn; her grandsons, Brady, Jack and Dylan
9Hedges; her brother, Thomas (Christine) Ondrla; her nieces and
10nephews, Jennifer, Joseph, Mark, Alex, Caitlin, Moira, and
11Robert; her friend and childhood soulmate, Sharon Wisinski;
12and countless others; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Alice M. (Ondrla) Dunn and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Alice Dunn as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
