SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Dan J. Male, who passed away on 
4January 31, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Male, the son of Charles and Dorothy Male, 
6was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on September 22, 1947; 
7he served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 
81970 and then earned a degree at Illinois State University; 
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dan Male had a successful career at Caterpillar, 
11where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 2002; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dan Male cared deeply about veterans and greatly 
13valued the Disabled American Veterans organization; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dan Male was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his brother, Jim Male; and his grandson, Bret Hoover; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dan Male is survived by his loving spouse of 47 
17years, Susan; his sons, Steve (Renee) Hoover and Scott (Laura) 
18Hoover; his brother, Ed (Lori) Male; and his nephew, Brian 
19Male; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Dan J. Male and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
4friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Dan Male as an expression of our 
7deepest sympathy.
