| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Dr. John B. Dale of Brimfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 15, 2026; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale was born in Mt. Vernon to Bruce and Diana |
| 6 | | (Jones) Dale on December 14, 1969; he graduated from Woodlawn |
| 7 | | High School in 1988, where he was class president and |
| 8 | | valedictorian; he attended Washington University in St. Louis |
| 9 | | and then Southern Illinois University School of Dental |
| 10 | | Medicine, where he received his doctorate in 1995; he married |
| 11 | | Sarah E. McKee in Alton on September 10, 1994; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale served in the U.S. Navy as a dentist for |
| 13 | | seven years, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander; he |
| 14 | | was stationed in Maryland and Rhode Island and overseas in |
| 15 | | Japan; he was decorated with seven medals for outstanding |
| 16 | | achievement and service and began a clinic for dependent |
| 17 | | spouses and children while stationed in Japan; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale left the military and returned to school |
| 19 | | at the St. Louis University-Center for Advanced Dental |
| 20 | | Education, where he received his Master of Science and |
| 21 | | Endodontic Specialty degree in 2001; he practiced in the |
| 22 | | Milwaukee, Wisconsin area for more than three years and then |

| 1 | | opened his own endodontist office in Peoria in February of |
| 2 | | 2004; he became a diplomate of the American Board of |
| 3 | | Endodontics in 2008; he opened his second location adjacent to |
| 4 | | Illinois Central College in 2016; he prided himself on |
| 5 | | spending time with patients to explain procedures while |
| 6 | | providing treatment as gently and quickly as possible and to |
| 7 | | the highest of standards; he believed in treating each patient |
| 8 | | as he would want his loved ones to be treated; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale's professional memberships and |
| 10 | | affiliations included, Diplomate with the American Board of |
| 11 | | Endodontics, the Edgar D. Coolidge Study Club, the American |
| 12 | | Association of Endodontics, the Illinois Endodontic |
| 13 | | Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Peoria |
| 14 | | District Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and |
| 15 | | the Academy of General Dentistry (1995-2001); and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale pursued many hobbies; he was a high |
| 17 | | school and college baseball umpire and a boy's high school |
| 18 | | basketball referee for many years; he was well-versed in |
| 19 | | playing many musical instruments and was currently studying |
| 20 | | cello; he was a private pilot who was working on becoming |
| 21 | | instrument rated; he loved watching old movies, traveling, |
| 22 | | reading, art, and spending time with family and friends; and |
| 23 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale was a member of St. Mary's Catholic |

| 1 | | Church in Kickapoo; and |
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale was preceded in death by his brother, |
| 3 | | Tim Dale; his beloved grandparents; and his uncle, Larry |
| 4 | | Reynolds; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dale is survived by his wife, Sarah; his |
| 6 | | daughter, Elizabeth Dale; his mother and stepfather, Diana and |
| 7 | | Ron Winternheimer; his father and stepmother, Bruce and |
| 8 | | Candace Dale; his sister, Kristen (Rodney) Tracer; his |
| 9 | | nephews, Grayson, Gavin, and Griffin; two stepbrothers; one |
| 10 | | stepsister; and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins; |
| 11 | | therefore, be it |
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 14 | | Dr. John B. Dale and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 16 | | further |
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to the family of Dr. Dale as a symbol of our deepest |
| 19 | | sympathy. |
