| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of John Albert Gleason of Mesa, Arizona, |
| 4 | | formerly of Pekin, who passed away on January 28, 2026; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Gleason was born to John and Louise |
| 6 | | (Scruggs) Gleason in Pekin on February 22, 1940; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Pekin Community High School and then enlisted in the |
| 8 | | United States Army; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, John Gleason spent his working years as a truck |
| 10 | | driver and retired as a member of the International |
| 11 | | Brotherhood of Teamsters; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John Gleason loved traveling the country in his |
| 13 | | motor coach to watch auto racing, and he also enjoyed tennis, |
| 14 | | pickleball, and dancing in his retirement community, where he |
| 15 | | met many good friends; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, John Gleason was preceded in death by his sister, |
| 17 | | Mary Ann Carl; his son, Derrick Gleason; and his daughter, |
| 18 | | Darci (Gleason) White; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, John Gleason is survived by his son, Darin |
| 20 | | Gleason; his grandson, Ryan White; his granddaughter, Ashley |
