SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John Albert Gleason of Mesa, Arizona,
4formerly of Pekin, who passed away on January 28, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Gleason was born to John and Louise
6(Scruggs) Gleason in Pekin on February 22, 1940; he graduated
7from Pekin Community High School and then enlisted in the
8United States Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Gleason spent his working years as a truck
10driver and retired as a member of the International
11Brotherhood of Teamsters; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Gleason loved traveling the country in his
13motor coach to watch auto racing, and he also enjoyed tennis,
14pickleball, and dancing in his retirement community, where he
15met many good friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Gleason was preceded in death by his sister,
17Mary Ann Carl; his son, Derrick Gleason; and his daughter,
18Darci (Gleason) White; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Gleason is survived by his son, Darin
20Gleason; his grandson, Ryan White; his granddaughter, Ashley

3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5John Albert Gleason and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of John Gleason as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
