SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Edward A. "Ed" Conway of Pekin, who
4passed away on January 15, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Conway was born to Adolf and Sophia
6(Suspenski) Conway in Avondale, Missouri on October 20, 1938;
7he married Nancy Kavisic in Kansas City, Missouri on February
824, 1962; he served in the United States Army; he earned a
9master's degree from William Jewell College in Liberty,
10Missouri; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ed Conway had a remarkable 48-year career at CPC
12International, retiring as plant manager in 2003, and his long
13tenure reflected his dedication and leadership in industrial
14operations; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ed Conway was a true sports enthusiast, with
16particular love for track, football, basketball, and golf; he
17was also an avid target shooter, fisherman, and hunter,
18partaking in safari hunts around the world, and he enjoyed
19floral gardening and rock collecting; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ed Conway will be remembered as a man with an
21adventurous spirit and appreciation for the outdoors who also

1found joy in more creative and contemplative pursuits; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Ed Conway was preceded in death by his parents;
3his sons, Michael Conway and John Conway; his brothers, Alfred
4Conway and Robert Conway; and his sisters, Ann Walton and Mary
5Jane Lour; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ed Conway is survived by his wife of 63 years,
7Nancy; his grandchildren, Anthony (Breanne) Conway, Joseph
8(Shelby) Conway, Sara (Conor) Coyle, and Catherine Conway; six
9great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and his
10daughter-in-law, Rebecca Conway; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Edward A. "Ed" Conway and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Ed Conway as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
