| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities |
| 4 | | (TASC) on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, TASC is an Illinois-based nonprofit organization |
| 6 | | founded in 1976 to reduce justice involvement and its |
| 7 | | consequences by providing coordinated, evidence-based services |
| 8 | | to individuals with behavioral health and social service |
| 9 | | needs; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, TASC operates at the intersection of health and |
| 11 | | the criminal legal system and is a valued and trusted partner |
| 12 | | to both systems, delivering interventions that promote |
| 13 | | recovery, reduce recidivism, strengthen families, and enhance |
| 14 | | public safety; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, TASC is licensed as a Designated Program under |
| 16 | | Illinois statute and administrative rule, authorizing it to |
| 17 | | conduct court-approved assessments, referrals, case |
| 18 | | management, monitoring, and service coordination, in |
| 19 | | compliance with state standards governing professional |
| 20 | | practice, accountability, data reporting, and quality |
| 21 | | assurance; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, TASC provides a continuum of services, including |
| 2 | | criminal justice diversion, drug and specialty court support, |
| 3 | | reentry and community supervision services, substance use |
| 4 | | disorder treatment coordination, family and youth intervention |
| 5 | | programs, specialized case management, substance use disorder |
| 6 | | treatment, and housing stabilization, and supportive housing |
| 7 | | navigation; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, TASC has expanded its service delivery through |
| 9 | | deflection, which redirects individuals away from arrest and |
| 10 | | deeper system involvement by connecting them to treatment, |
| 11 | | behavioral health services, housing resources, and |
| 12 | | community-based supports at the earliest point of law |
| 13 | | enforcement contact; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, TASC, through its Center for Health and Justice, |
| 15 | | provides state, national, and international leadership in |
| 16 | | research, policy development, training, and technical |
| 17 | | assistance, translating evidence into effective justice and |
| 18 | | health system practices; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, TASC addresses key social drivers of health, |
| 20 | | including poverty, trauma, housing instability, and access to |
| 21 | | care, through individualized and system-level strategies that |
| 22 | | improve long-term outcomes for participants and communities; |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, The impact of TASC is made possible by its |
| 2 | | dedicated staff, whose professionalism, expertise, and |
| 3 | | commitment to service support thousands of individuals each |
| 4 | | year in achieving recovery, stability, and successful |
| 5 | | community reintegration; therefore, be it |
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate |
| 8 | | Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities (TASC) on its |
| 9 | | 50th anniversary; and be it further |
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That we extend our best wishes to TASC for |
| 11 | | continued success in advancing effective, accountable, and |
| 12 | | compassionate alternatives to incarceration; and be it further |
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 14 | | presented to TASC as an expression of our respect and |
| 15 | | appreciation. |
