SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John W. Schoon of Glasford, who passed
4away on December 31, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Schoon was born to Harley and Grace
6(Hollandsworth) Schoon in Canton on May 13, 1932; he served in
7the United States Army from 1950 until 1953; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Schoon worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 31
9years; he also served as a union steward, retiring in 1980; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Schoon was a member of White Chapel Church,
11and he devoted his life to his love of farming; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Schoon was preceded in death by his parents;
13his wife, Ann (Geier) Schoon; his children, Cheryl Knussman,
14Valorie Schoon, and John D. Schoon; his great-granddaughter,
15Penelope Litle; and his siblings, Maurice Schoon and June
16Bankert; and
 
17    WHEREAS, John Schoon is survived by his children, James
18(Susan) Schoon and Pam (Matt) Price; his son-in-law, Gary
19Knussman; his daughter-in-law, Teresa Schoon; seven
20grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great

1grandchild; and many nephews and nieces; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4John W. Schoon and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of John Schoon as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
