| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Robert Keith "Bob" Fair of Virginia, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on March 12, 2026; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Bob Fair was born in Beardstown to Chester and | ||||||
| 6 | Grace Deming Fair on July 12, 1951; he attended schools in | ||||||
| 7 | Beardstown and Virginia; he married Delores "Dee" Brunk in | ||||||
| 8 | Palmyra, Missouri on August 31, 1968; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Bob Fair began his career at the Virginia Packing | ||||||
| 10 | Company and Cass Meats before entering law enforcement as a | ||||||
| 11 | part-time police officer for the City of Virginia, where he | ||||||
| 12 | eventually served full-time; he later joined the Cass County | ||||||
| 13 | Sheriff's Department as chief deputy, where he proudly served | ||||||
| 14 | the citizens of Cass County and was elected to two terms as | ||||||
| 15 | sheriff; he was dedicated to protecting his community and took | ||||||
| 16 | great pride in serving with integrity and commitment | ||||||
| 17 | throughout his years in law enforcement; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Bob Fair enjoyed taking rides on his Goldwing | ||||||
| 19 | motorcycle with Dee and their dog, Sugar, riding in the | ||||||
| 20 | sidecar; he also enjoyed spending time fishing with his | ||||||
| 21 | grandson, Jacob; he took pride in keeping his yard neat and | ||||||
| 22 | caring for his outdoor flowers; he was known for his love of | ||||||

| 1 | bald eagles and proudly displayed a collection of eagle | ||||||
| 2 | figurines; he cherished his family, and the time they spent | ||||||
| 3 | together meant the most to him; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Bob Fair grew up attending the Baptist Church in | ||||||
| 5 | Beardstown and later attended Virginia United Methodist | ||||||
| 6 | Church; he was also a former sheriff member of the Illinois | ||||||
| 7 | Sheriffs' Association; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Bob Fair was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 9 | his sister, Nancy Case; and his brother, Kenny Fair; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Bob Fair is survived by his wife, Dee; his | ||||||
| 11 | daughter, Lisa Winnett (Jon German); his grandson, Jacob | ||||||
| 12 | Winnett; his great-grandson, Maddox Winnett; his sister, Karen | ||||||
| 13 | (Allen) Pherigo; his brother, Tommy Fair; numerous nieces and | ||||||
| 14 | nephews; and his loyal four-legged companion, Sugar; | ||||||
| 15 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | Robert Keith "Bob" Fair and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
| 19 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further | ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
