SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert Keith "Bob" Fair of Virginia,
4who passed away on March 12, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Fair was born in Beardstown to Chester and
6Grace Deming Fair on July 12, 1951; he attended schools in
7Beardstown and Virginia; he married Delores "Dee" Brunk in
8Palmyra, Missouri on August 31, 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Fair began his career at the Virginia Packing
10Company and Cass Meats before entering law enforcement as a
11part-time police officer for the City of Virginia, where he
12eventually served full-time; he later joined the Cass County
13Sheriff's Department as chief deputy, where he proudly served
14the citizens of Cass County and was elected to two terms as
15sheriff; he was dedicated to protecting his community and took
16great pride in serving with integrity and commitment
17throughout his years in law enforcement; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Fair enjoyed taking rides on his Goldwing
19motorcycle with Dee and their dog, Sugar, riding in the
20sidecar; he also enjoyed spending time fishing with his
21grandson, Jacob; he took pride in keeping his yard neat and
22caring for his outdoor flowers; he was known for his love of

1bald eagles and proudly displayed a collection of eagle
2figurines; he cherished his family, and the time they spent
3together meant the most to him; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bob Fair grew up attending the Baptist Church in
5Beardstown and later attended Virginia United Methodist
6Church; he was also a former sheriff member of the Illinois
7Sheriffs' Association; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bob Fair was preceded in death by his parents;
9his sister, Nancy Case; and his brother, Kenny Fair; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bob Fair is survived by his wife, Dee; his
11daughter, Lisa Winnett (Jon German); his grandson, Jacob
12Winnett; his great-grandson, Maddox Winnett; his sister, Karen
13(Allen) Pherigo; his brother, Tommy Fair; numerous nieces and
14nephews; and his loyal four-legged companion, Sugar;
15therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Robert Keith "Bob" Fair and extend our sincere condolences to
19his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
