SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 
3commend Philip H. Lewis and Maureen V. Lewis for their decades 
4of community service to the people of Kane County and the State 
5of Illinois; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Philip Lewis, born on March 31, 1948, has been a 
7proud resident of the State of Illinois for more than 76 years; 
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Philip Lewis honorably served his community as a 
10member of the Kane County Board from 2008 to 2018, 
11demonstrating a strong commitment to public service and local 
12governance; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Philip Lewis, in addition to his public service, 
14enjoyed a successful career in the manufacturing and education 
15sectors, contributing to the economic growth and educational 
16advancement of his community; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Maureen Lewis, born on January 25, 1949, is a 
18lifelong resident and a dedicated public servant of the State 
19of Illinois; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Maureen Lewis served with distinction as the 5th

1Ward Alderperson on the St. Charles City Council from 2010 to 
22021, where she provided thoughtful leadership and advocacy 
3for her constituents; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Through Maureen Lewis's leadership and community 
5involvement, the City of St. Charles earned national 
6recognition, including top honors in the 2017 America in Bloom 
7Awards; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Maureen Lewis has further demonstrated her 
9commitment to community well-being through her long-term 
10service on the St. Charles 708 Community Mental Health Board; 
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Philip and Maureen Lewis are the proud parents of 
13four children, Seth Lewis, Jennifer Crossen, Michael Lewis, 
14and John Joseph Lewis; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Together, Philip and Maureen Lewis have 
16exemplified a lifetime of dedication to their community, 
17public service, and family, instilling in their children the 
18values of volunteerism, civic responsibility, and service to 
19others; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Philip H.

1Lewis and Maureen V. Lewis for their years of community 
2service to the people of Kane County and the State of Illinois; 
3and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
