| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | commend Philip H. Lewis and Maureen V. Lewis for their decades |
| 4 | | of community service to the people of Kane County and the State |
| 5 | | of Illinois; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Philip Lewis, born on March 31, 1948, has been a |
| 7 | | proud resident of the State of Illinois for more than 76 years; |
| 8 | | and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Philip Lewis honorably served his community as a |
| 10 | | member of the Kane County Board from 2008 to 2018, |
| 11 | | demonstrating a strong commitment to public service and local |
| 12 | | governance; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Philip Lewis, in addition to his public service, |
| 14 | | enjoyed a successful career in the manufacturing and education |
| 15 | | sectors, contributing to the economic growth and educational |
| 16 | | advancement of his community; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Maureen Lewis, born on January 25, 1949, is a |
| 18 | | lifelong resident and a dedicated public servant of the State |
| 19 | | of Illinois; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Maureen Lewis served with distinction as the 5th |

| 1 | | Ward Alderperson on the St. Charles City Council from 2010 to |
| 2 | | 2021, where she provided thoughtful leadership and advocacy |
| 3 | | for her constituents; and |
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Through Maureen Lewis's leadership and community |
| 5 | | involvement, the City of St. Charles earned national |
| 6 | | recognition, including top honors in the 2017 America in Bloom |
| 7 | | Awards; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Maureen Lewis has further demonstrated her |
| 9 | | commitment to community well-being through her long-term |
| 10 | | service on the St. Charles 708 Community Mental Health Board; |
| 11 | | and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Philip and Maureen Lewis are the proud parents of |
| 13 | | four children, Seth Lewis, Jennifer Crossen, Michael Lewis, |
| 14 | | and John Joseph Lewis; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Together, Philip and Maureen Lewis have |
| 16 | | exemplified a lifetime of dedication to their community, |
| 17 | | public service, and family, instilling in their children the |
| 18 | | values of volunteerism, civic responsibility, and service to |
| 19 | | others; therefore, be it |
| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
