| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate Aqsa School on the occasion of its 40th |
| 4 | | anniversary, which is to be celebrated on April 18, 2026; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1986, Aqsa School holds the |
| 6 | | distinguished honor of being the first full-time Islamic |
| 7 | | school established in the State of Illinois and the first |
| 8 | | all-girls Islamic school in North America for grades 6 through |
| 9 | | 12; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Located in Bridgeview, Aqsa School has served |
| 11 | | generations of students with a mission to empower young women |
| 12 | | and youth to excel academically while growing socially and |
| 13 | | spiritually; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, For the past four decades, Aqsa School has been a |
| 15 | | pioneering institution within Illinois' educational landscape |
| 16 | | and a cornerstone of the State's Muslim community; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Aqsa School has consistently demonstrated |
| 18 | | excellence and innovation, including becoming the first |
| 19 | | Islamic school to win an Illinois High School Association |
| 20 | | (IHSA) regional championship and earning recognition for its |
| 21 | | educators through the Golden Apple Foundation's prestigious |
|

|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Aqsa School has achieved a Platinum distinction |
| 3 | | on the College Board's AP School Honor Roll, reflecting its |
| 4 | | strong academic performance and commitment to preparing |
| 5 | | students for higher education and lifelong success; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Aqsa School graduates have proceeded to attend |
| 7 | | some of the nation's top colleges and universities and have |
| 8 | | contributed meaningfully to communities across the State of |
| 9 | | Illinois and beyond; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Aqsa School's continued success stands as a |
| 11 | | testament to the dedication of its board, administrators, |
| 12 | | teachers, staff, parents, and students, whose commitment has |
| 13 | | helped shape a legacy of excellence, faith, and service; |
| 14 | | therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Aqsa |
| 17 | | School on achieving its 40th anniversary, and we commend the |
| 18 | | institution for its decades of leadership, innovation, and |
| 19 | | service to the people of Illinois; and be it further

| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
