| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Eugenia C. "Jeanne" McCarthy of |
| 4 | | Springfield, who passed away on April 24, 2026; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne McCarthy, the daughter of George and |
| 6 | | Maxine (Cripe) Reisch, was born in Springfield on November 21, |
| 7 | | 1935; she graduated from St. Agnes Grade School and Sacred |
| 8 | | Heart Academy; she married John "Jack" McCarthy at St. Agnes |
| 9 | | Catholic Church on January 8, 1955; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne McCarthy was a longtime and active member |
| 11 | | of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she attended Mass |
| 12 | | daily; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne McCarthy was a wonderful cook whose |
| 14 | | Christmas spreads and fried chicken were legendary; she was an |
| 15 | | accomplished bridge player who spent countless evenings |
| 16 | | playing cards with her neighbors; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne McCarthy lived for her faith and her |
| 18 | | family, dedicating her life to loving and caring for her |
| 19 | | husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; she |
| 20 | | was the ultimate role model, teacher, and nurturer; and |
