| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate five members of the Bolingbrook Fire Department, |
| 4 | | Lieutenant Joseph Valach and Firefighter-Paramedics Cristian |
| 5 | | Abarca, John Biederman, Blake Coughlin, and Brandon Roat, on |
| 6 | | the occasion of receiving the Firefighter Excellence Unit |
| 7 | | Citation Award; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Firefighter Excellence Unit Citation Award |
| 9 | | recognizes fire departments and teams for an act of service in |
| 10 | | the line of duty, demonstrating excellence, teamwork, and |
| 11 | | professionalism in service to the citizens of the State of |
| 12 | | Illinois; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The Firefighter Excellence Unit Citation Award is |
| 14 | | awarded by the Firefighting Medal of Honor Committee, which is |
| 15 | | assisted by the Office of the State Fire Marshal; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lt. Valach and Firefighter-Paramedics Abarca, |
| 17 | | Biederman, Coughlin, and Roat will be honored at the Annual |
| 18 | | Firefighter Medal of Honor Ceremony at the Bank of Springfield |
| 19 | | Center on May 12, 2026; therefore, be it
