SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 
3congratulate Carol Gieske on the occasion of her retirement 
4from the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carol Gieske has spent years serving the business 
6community as president and CEO of the Elgin Area Chamber of 
7Commerce; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carol Gieske strengthened the chamber's impact, 
9advanced economic development initiatives, and positioned the 
10organization as a vital resource and connector for local 
11businesses; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Carol Gieske's leadership has guided the chamber 
13through growth, innovation, and meaningful community 
14engagement; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Carol Gieske has received numerous honors for her 
16impact and leadership, reflecting a career defined by service, 
17collaboration, and measurable results that have strengthened 
18the greater Elgin area; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Carol Gieske, prior to her work with the chamber, 
20led the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, where she oversaw a

1highly successful capital campaign that raised more than $11 
2million for major healthcare expansions; she also served as 
3CEO of the United Way of Elgin, helping raise more than $44 
4million during her tenure to support local social service 
5organizations; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Carol Gieske continues to serve on multiple 
7boards and initiatives advancing education, healthcare, 
8community service, and leadership development, underscoring 
9her long-standing commitment to the community; therefore, be 
10it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carol 
13Gieske on her retirement from the Elgin Area Chamber of 
14Commerce, and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; 
15and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Carol Gieske as a symbol of our respect and 
18esteem.
