SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Judith "Judy" Georgantas, who passed
4away on April 26, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas was born to George and
6Olga(Malnar) Boban on August 29, 1938; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas' two careers included being a
8travel agent with Joliet Travel and Karner Travel, and then in
91985, she added real estate, working for Karges; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas and her husband enjoyed
11traveling around the world with family and friends, and from
121981 to 1998 she escorted groups all over the world through the
13College of St. Francis (now USF) continuing education nursing
14program; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas and her husband loved to
16entertain and were known for some of the best parties,
17including "the cornfest", which became an annual event; they
18also never missed a sporting event or school function for
19their grandchildren; they enjoyed music, spending time with
20their grand-dog, Daisy, and volunteering for many years for
21the Jubilation festival, where they were co-chairs of the 1986

1event; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas was a long time lector at St.
3Mary Nativity and on the parish picnic committee; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas was preceded in death by her
5husband, Richard J. "Dick" Georgantas; her parents; her
6brother, Richard Boban; her in-laws, Anthony and Margaret
7Georgantas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Gloria
8Georgantas, Betty Bick, George and Georgetta Georgantas,
9Clarence "Teak" and Terry Georgantas, Lorraine and Dave
10A'Hearn, and Don Georgantas; her aunts and uncles, Sylvia
11Malnar, Ray and Gloria Malnar, Bernie and Carole Malnar, Marie
12and Augie Krause, Don and Lela Boban, Melvin and Gretchen
13Boban, and Joe and Dorothy Boban Sr.; and her friends, Jean
14Konrad, Joann Placher, and Joyce Senffner; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas is survived by her daughter,
16Sue (Jim) Gulas; her grandchildren, Jenny and Nick Gulas; her
17brother, George F. "Geordie" (Carol) Boban; her
18sisters-in-law, Christine Boban and Connie A'Hearn; and
19numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors; therefore,
20be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Judith "Judy" Georgantas and extend our sincere condolences to
2her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Judith Georgantas as a symbol of our
