SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dorothy (Burton) Lugibill of
4Williamsville, who passed away on May 13, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill, the daughter of Tobe and Ruth
6Frances (Fannie) Burton, was born near Sherman on January 2,
71930; she married Paul Lugibill in Williamsville on June 27,
81948, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2009; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill was a lifelong member of the
10Williamsville United Methodist Church as well as the
11Williamsville United Methodist Women; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill enjoyed knitting for charities,
13riding her scooter around town, socializing, attending horse
14shows, and spending time with her family; she was also an
15enthusiastic Williamsville Bullets fan; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill was preceded in death by 12
17siblings; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill is survived by her children,
19Barb (Larry) Carter, Glenn Lugibill, Linda (Ed Ward) May,
20Paula Riser, and Vince (Karen) Lugibill; six grandchildren;

1nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and
2several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Dorothy (Burton) Lugibill and extend our sincere condolences
6to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Dorothy Lugibill as an expression
10of our deepest sympathy.
