| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Kamaria Laurette Gross, who passed |
| 4 | | away on April 26, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kamaria Gross was born to Karen Laurette Bozeman |
| 6 | | and James Oliver Gross in Chicago on January 24, 1984; she |
| 7 | | attended the Beasley Academy Center; she graduated from |
| 8 | | Whitney Young High School with honors in 2002, where she was |
| 9 | | involved in extracurricular activities, including as a member |
| 10 | | of the dance team and co-captain of the pompon squad; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Kamaria Gross attended business school and earned |
| 12 | | a bachelor's degree from the school of communications at |
| 13 | | Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she was inducted |
| 14 | | into the Global Ambassadors Program, traveling to Austria, the |
| 15 | | Czech Republic, and Hungary and was a member of the Alpha Kappa |
| 16 | | Alpha Sorority, Alpha Chapter; she later received a master's |
| 17 | | degree in human resources from Loyola Business School in May |
| 18 | | 2011; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Kamaria Gross completed two summer internships at |
| 20 | | the Chicago Housing Authority; she also worked in human |
| 21 | | resources at the University of Chicago Regenstein Library, |
| 22 | | with vendor compliance at the Chicago Housing Authority, and |
