SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Anthony M. Neita, who passed away on
4July 7, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anthony Neita was born to A.D. Moody and Bobbie
6(Neita) Stiff in Chicago on February 2, 1955; he attended
7Alfred D. Kohn Elementary School and Harlan High School; he
8received an Associate in Applied Science in Auto Mechanics
9from Kennedy King College; he served in the United States Army
10as a recovery specialist of the 1st Cavalry Division for six
11years, and he was honorably discharged with the rank of
12Specialist (E-4) in 1979; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Anthony Neita worked at Continental Can and
14General Electric before serving as a bus operator for Chicago
15Transit Authority (CTA), retiring in March 2017 after 25 years
16of service; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Anthony Neita enjoyed playing bid whist, relaxing
18on his boat, telling stories about his children and
19grandchildren, and watching anything related to Star Wars; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Anthony Neita was a man of strong faith known to
21many as "Buster" or "Tony; to his family, he was

1affectionately known as "Daddy", "Granddad", and "Ant"; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Anthony Neita was preceded in death by his
3parents and twin grandchildren; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Anthony M. Neita is survived by his children,
5Chanta, Anthony "Tony" (Angela), and Sabrina (Edward III); six
6grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brothers,
7Alphonso, Alan, and Mark; his stepfather, Alphonso Neita; his
8honorary brothers, Kirk, Damon, William "Billy", and Kevin;
9and a host of relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Anthony M. Neita and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Anthony Neita as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
