SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Nehemiah Alliance has launched a historic, national 52-Day Rebuild Initiative, calling the people of the United States to an extended time of unified prayer, fasting, and repentance for the purpose of rebuilding the spiritual walls of blessing and protection around our 50 states and our nation; and

WHEREAS, From its founding, the United States of America has been shaped by enduring Judeo-Christian principles of faith, liberty, and justice and has long understood itself to be "one nation under God", and throughout our history, Americans have turned to these principles in moments of challenge, seeking renewal, unity, and moral clarity; and

WHEREAS, From the earliest days of the Republic, national leaders have issued calls to prayer and humility, reflecting a long-standing historical precedent of seeking divine guidance during significant moments in the life of this nation; and

WHEREAS, The founding ideals of the United States affirm principles of faith, liberty, justice, accountability, and the dignity of the human person, values that continue to inspire citizens across generations; and

WHEREAS, The 52-Day Rebuild Initiative emphasizes personal responsibility, civic virtue, reconciliation, and service, encouraging individuals to strengthen their homes, neighborhoods, and communities through prayerful engagement; and

WHEREAS, The Nehemiah Alliance draws inspiration from the biblical account of Nehemiah, who, with the favor of Heaven, the authorization of government, and the cooperation of leaders, rebuilt the broken walls of Jerusalem in 52 days, and in that same spirit, during America's 250th anniversary, this 52-day initiative calls Americans to recognize that the moral, cultural, and spiritual foundations of our society require our attention and action; and

WHEREAS, Beginning at sundown on September 10, 2026 and concluding at sundown on All Saints' Sunday, November 1, 2026, this initiative invites people across our nation to humble themselves before Almighty God through prayer, repentance, and periods of fasting as each person is individually led; and

WHEREAS, The purpose is to rebuild our walls, restore our homes, revive our hearts, and renew liberty and justice for all, reunifying us as "one nation under God"; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Nehemiah Alliance is grounded in the call of Scripture, including the promise recorded in Second Chronicles 7:14, that should God's people pray, call upon His Name, and repent of their sins and those of their nation, God will hear from Heaven and heal their land; and

WHEREAS, The Nehemiah Alliance seeks to reflect the body of Christ by bringing together leaders, pastors, organizations, and intercessors across denominations, ethnicities, and spheres of influence; and

WHEREAS, Participants are encouraged to serve as modern-day gatekeepers, building the wall in front of their own homes and interceding for their families, neighborhoods, schools, churches, businesses, and all leaders in authority, in accordance with First Timothy 2:1-2; and

WHEREAS, Drawing from historical precedent, including General George S. Patton's commissioning of a common prayer for all of his troops preceding victory in World War II, participants will unite in one voice throughout the 52-Day Rebuild Initiative to intercede using the "United Prayer for America"; and

WHEREAS, During the 52 days, focused prayers will be made for spheres of culture, the 50 states and territories, Washington, D.C., Congress, the Supreme Court, and the President of the United States and his administration; and

WHEREAS, On Saturday, October 31, 2026 and All Saints' Sunday, November 1, 2026, people of faith from across the nation will gather online and in person, including on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., in sacred assembly to pray, fast, repent, and stand; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the Nehemiah Alliance for its leadership in advancing the historic, national 52-Day Rebuild Initiative to be held with prayer, fasting, and repentance, beginning at sundown on Thursday, September 10, 2026 and concluding at sundown on All Saints' Sunday, November 1, 2026.
