Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Includes resisting or obstructing a probation officer in the offense of resisting or obstructing a peace officer or correctional institution employee and increases the penalty for the offense from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class 4 felony.

House Amendment No. 1
Restores the Class A misdemeanor violation for resisting an officer and the Class 4 felony violation if the resistance was the proximate cause of the injury to the officer. Provides that if the officer gives a visual or audible signal that a person is under arrest and the person willfully flees or attempts to elude the officer, the person is guilty of a Class 4 felony.
